Geronimo Pratt, his family and supporters have always maintained that Geronimo was targeted and framed by the FBI and the LA Police Department because of his activity in the Black Panther Party.

Today, we’re going to take an extended look at the US government’s — and specifically the FBI’s — illegal and murderous war against the Black Panther Party and other radical groups that were fighting for social change from the 1950s through the 1970s.

The Counter Intelligence Program or COINTELPRO, as the war was officially known, claimed many lives and many more were thrown in prison for extended periods of time — people like Leonard Peltier, Silvia Barldini, and Geronimo Pratt.

This special audio documentary called “Me and My Shadow” was produced by Adi Gevins in the late 1970s, just as the outline of the government’s secret war against the left was beginning to emerge.
