Kathy Lee Gifford and Sweatshops

Charlie Kernaghan of the National Labor Committee raised a stink last week when he charged at a Congressional hearing that TV personality Kathie Lee Gifford’s Walmart clothing line was produced in Honduran sweatshops, where underage and pregnant women sew garments for 20 hours a day in extreme heat, for only 31 cents an hour. Kathie Lee has been tearfully trying to defend herself on the air during her TV show.
