President Clinton has concluded a three-day campaign swing that marked his 25th visit to California. Pacifica National Affairs Correspondent Larry Bensky went to the site of Clinton’s big event in an Francisco last night and joins us now. Clinton’s campaign visit was clearly aimed at exploiting the gender gap, he talked about issues like domestic violence and child support. At the same time in Washington, the Senate passed a welfare reform measure 74-24 that would turn control of welfare to the states, require most recipients to work, but does not end the federal food stamp program, as some Republicans wanted. The bill now goes to a House-Senate Conference Committee.
