Zachary Runningwolf Brown, a Blackfeet Native American man runs across the United States, from the bay area to Philadelphia (about 30 miles a day) to raise awareness about Abu Mumia Jamal’s death row case, and to get Mumia a new trial. A documentary on his journey will be made by an independent filmmaker. Zachary visited Leavenworth, but he and his filmmaker were not granted an interview with Leonard Peltier, and they avoided protest for Leonard at Leavenworth, due to concerns about Leonard suffering retaliation at the hands of the prison. Zachary explains that his support for Mumia is significant, because he is crossing the racial line to support him.
